According to the physical string theory the world consist of a kind of one-dimensional vibrating lines, referred to as strings. When these are put together in our way occurs a fantastic meeting between the Berlin music scene and some the most vibrating artists from Göteborg. Midaircondo, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Pacific!, Studio, Jaqee, Hajen, Simon Ohlsson (Silverbullit), El Perro Del Mar, Jose Gonzalez, Fox Machine, Ebbot Lundberg (The Soundtrack of Our Lives) and Jmy Haze are among those local artists that will collaborate with representatives of the art-electro-collective Warren Suicide, the production company Transporterraum and the Party Arty beat poetry club from Berlin in the music-art-project "The Göteborg String Theory".

Selected songs by mentioned artists will be arranged by the composers Nackt, Ben Lauber & Slin for the string quartett Qvartiett and other classical musicians. Together with the artists the new renditions will be rehearsed and documented during a five day workshop and then performed on only two occations: The first time at the Clandestino Festival (see blog for artist line-up) and the second time in a theater in Göteborg yet to be announced.

The idea of the musical String Theory was born in Berlin in 2007 and developed by Nackt, Cherie, Yaneq, Ben Lauber and Moses Schneider among others. The first ever appearence is known as The Berlin String Theory which involved more than 100 artists, musicians, technicians, composers, producers, poets etc. Berlin was the ignition spark and Göteborg will be the explosion.

The Göteborg String Theory is arranged by the Signal society in cooperation with Clandestino Festival, with kind support from Goethe Institut, Göteborg & Co and Kokokaka. Artistic directors for The Göteborg String Theory are Sebastian Gäbel and Nathalie Barusta Gäbel.
